‘HORSE, MOON, HILL’
The myth of the white horse - written into the very bedrock of England, and with parallels in other lands and other cultures - is at the heart of Toogood’s collaboration with the Italian linen lifestyle brand, Once Milano.
‘HORSE, MOON, HILL’, the bedding collection and the limited edition appliqued quilts, is inspired by the graphic qualities of the pagan hill carvings at Westbury and Uffingham.
An earthy palette of rich browns, grassy greens and chalky whites alludes to the collection’s roots in the English landscape, while the stories depicted encompass not just paganism but also the white horse’s role in the Christian, Hindu and Persian traditions.
The ten limited edition quilts - made up of graphic elements, from cut and sewn Italian linen as well as hand-painting - are given free reign to explore various equine legends in an abstracted, painterly manner.
The bedding range includes bedlinen, cushions and throws and provides a creative extension for the land-art quilts. Exclusive pyjamas and dressing gowns complete the collection and will be sold through Once Milano, Toogood and selected retailers worldwide.
