Once Milano for Artemest and Sixtysix Magazine

When Sixtysix editor-in-chief Chris Force set out to renovate his historic Chicago loft, he approached every change with intention. Set in a former printing press building from 1916, the space reflects his lifelong love of print and design.

With the help of PROjECT Interiors and the involvement of Artemest, the team transformed the 2,000-square-foot loft into a modern family-friendly space.

What we really appreciate about this project, and why we feel it resonates so strongly with our brand, is the way it gives continuity to the past. Just as the interior designers have embraced the building’s historic bones while incorporating modern materials and functionality suited to family living, Once Milano takes ancient materials like linen and adapts them to meet contemporary needs.

For this loft, PROjECT Interiors asked Artemest to provide some iconic pieces from its curated selection, including the wall hanging by Studiopepe for Once Milano.

The wall hanging is part of a wider collection consisting of bed linen, embroidered cushions, lamps with asymmetrical lampshades and flowing kimonos. The collection is called SIBYLLE, named after the mythical Sibyls of Greco-Roman antiquity—women believed to possess extraordinary sensibility and the power to perceive the hidden layers of the material world through their senses.

It’s a fitting coincidence, then, that when Chris Force embarked on renovating his downtown loft, he was searching for more than just style. “One thing I’ve consistently looked for in any project—whether it’s a home or a creative venture—is meaning,” he says. “I’m always searching for signs of connection, some sense of fate or deeper reason to say ‘yes’ or ‘no’ to something.”
